Not much, and very easy to miss. A shame, but not surprising.
Thanks for the link Suzanne!
And Chantal 🙂
Thanks for the link Suzanne! I’m only in Antigua a few more days, I was hoping to visit Nim Pot before I leave. Oh well….
Any more news? Is Frank the operator of Nim P’ot OK?
Frank’s fine and Nim Pot is open for business. Smells a little smokey still but yeah, things look like they’re back to normal. Frieda’s and Pensativo are still recovering though.
Better late than never!
The rumour spreading at the start of the fire was a short circuit. Not sure if this changed after the fire restarted later on at night. As far as I know, this is the stock reason for any fire in Antigua!
There was only one person in Nimpot at the time, I asked the bomberos when they were clearing up and there were no injuries thankfully.
I haven’t seen a newspaper story YET report on the probable causes. Sad, it’s basic journalism.
I found this account of it, but that seems to be about it:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/vivaantigua/sets/72157623808925935/ for once I had my camera with me. Given the amount of flammable things on view and the presence of huge gas canisters in Fridas, Antigua is lucky to still have its arch.
Thanks for the details, Nic- great photos too.
